About Us

At some point in our lives we find ourselves living below our greatest potential. It’s usually when we are scared to take risks, afraid of “what if’s?”, or dwelling in procrastination. But when we step out on faith (or f*ck its) in the direction of our dreams, personal growth can happen anywhere. Some of us bloom exactly where we are planted and some of us discover ourselves through leaving. Maybe it’s turning down an unfamiliar rocky road instead of continuing on the path that’s already been paved before us. Sometimes it’s calling in sick then getting wasted on a topless beach in Romania (true story), or living a life of purity while serving God in a community away from home that we finally figure out what makes us feel alive. Let’s get away from our comfort zones and above the noise of our excuses and start living the lives we’ve always dreamed of.

We must let go of the life we have planned to accept the one that is waiting for us.

– Joseph Campbell

After finding out we were dating the same guy AT THE SAME TIME (🐸☕) and realizing we didn’t hate each other, we began to encourage one another to pursue our individual passions. We decided to stop making excuses, join forces and chase after the lives we’ve been talking about living.

We started YokoCoco to break out of what had become ordinary for us. We challenged ourselves to achieve our bucket list of places to travel while hoping to inspire women to uplift each other and help them to discover who they are along the way.

Brittnie is a Southern girlie girl, often uses Kimoji’s in place of words and whose life can be summed up as a series of arrivals and departures. Ashley is an artist living in LA, who is more of a Tomboy who’d rather wear shell-toes instead of stilettos and will make you spit out your drink laughing. We both love to explore new places, rather be mermaids and Netflix is our shit.

And if this all fails and no one reads our blog besides our moms, at least we’ll have some incredible pictures and crazy stories to tell our grandkids about the time we went rogue and grabbed life by the cojones.
